Noah came by to vist!
Oakwood Christian Academy was just visited by Noah and the animals. OK, maybe it was just Mr. Green and his 9th grade PE class but it sure feels like Noah could come by. Lake Oakwood is in full strength today! The students are excited about having only 3 weeks until christmas break. Our hallways are now lined with our Dare to be a Daniel Commitment forms. I will get some pictures online for you to see. We will continue our study this Thursday during 3rd period. Keep praying!

Green Eggs and Ham
This morning the 10th grade students went back in time for Spanish I. They read Green Eggs and Ham during homeroom. Mr. Givens did a great job reading with excitement to the class. You may ask why was our 10th graders reading Dr. Seuss today in class. 1st period in our Spanish I class and in today's class our students were asked to read little children books that are written in Spanish. The most joyous time this morning was during homeroom when the students not only read the Green Eggs in Ham book but also (thanks to Dr. Minnick)got to eat Green Eggs and Ham. It is amazing how much fun school can be when your priorities are focused in the right direction. God is working hard here at OCA. Have a great Thanksgiving break.

Chapel Wall
In Chapel this morning we looked at how it is important to be plugged in to power source. The only way that we can be continuously sharing our faith is to be plugged in to God's word through our music, what we watch on tv, what we say to our friends, and by studying and reading God's word. In chapel, we also demonstrated how we can be plugged in to God's word but never use what we here and spread God's light (like a lamp) because we never turn the switch on. We try to stay out of other peoples way. At the close of our chapel time today the student hung up their commitment to display they were serious about continuing this study of Dare to be a Daniel. There will be pictures displayed of this event in the near future online. Keep praying!

Thanksgiving and family
Today we had a chance to have our 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade parents to join their children for a Thanksgiving meal at OCA. This was a great reminder of how important a parents influence is on a students life. Dare to Be a Daniel has helped to change the life of many of our students and has helped to transform the hallways of our middle and high school. Our prayer focus today is for the parents of OCA. We pray that discipleship will continue after a student leaves our classrooms the same way that you pray that discipleship will occur outside of your home. Be purposeful in your training up a child in the way they should go! Chapel will be 2nd period on Thursday, pray for our time together.

Chapel was great!
Today was a great example of how we can go from thinking we are doing what God wants us to do to a new level of understanding and action. God is doing some great things at OCA. Chapel was a great success this morning. Our students prayed for our new student council members this morning and then had a chance to sign the Dare to be a Daniel certificate. These certificates will be placed in the hall-way of the middle/high school area. Our desire is to see these students to reach out to this world while reaching in to other students. Keep praying for our students.
